This is Chillhop Music's seventh Essentials Fall compilation!
The New York hip-hop duo The Doppelgangaz have appeared on every Essentials this year, as well as providing radio work for our intros.
There are nearly 40 artists and musicians featured on this 25 track project.
Last year, we released our classic "Raccoon Yellow" Chillhop hoodie - perfect for Fall!
This year's Essentials visuals artists are Tevy Dubray & Jeoffrey Magellan, who also handle our livestreams and mixes.

What inspired your track on Fall 22?
For some reason the vibe of the track just gave us flashbacks of being in France eating Moules Frites by the water. Sort of a zen like experience we had out there and the chords seemed to have tapped into that for us.

‍Has your creative approach changed for this project, compared to your previous releases on Chillhop Essentials?
‍We’re always growing and learning. Being more off the cuff with instrument runs and having movement into breakdowns has not always been the norm for our standard hip hop tracks so it’s been fun to implement more musicality and deviation from structure at times.

What inspired the track?
‍During that time I spent a few weekends in the beautiful mountains of Switzerland. There's a Trail in the Region of Flims/Laax called "Green Valley" which inspired me.

‍Is there a message you wish to share with the listeners?
‍I hope that the community will soon be able to travel more easily and discover such beautiful regions. The Essentials from Chillhop are perfect for this when traveling.

What inspired the track?
‍I was very inspired by 90's hip hop for this one. I wanted to make something that feels like those walks in the middle of the night when no one's around.

‍Are there any interesting facts about the track?
‍I made this track one late summer night. It ended up inspiring a whole beat tape of the same genre that I've wanted to make for a long time. It was 2020 when things were still pretty locked down, so it allowed me the freedom to try some vibes that had been in the back of my mind.

What inspired the track?
‍“Passing Storm” was inspired by the feeling of something really overwhelming or negative happening in your life, and even though it feels like there is no end or escape, the biggest storm will eventually pass and the sun will break through the clouds.

‍What’s the thing you enjoyed the most while working on your track?
‍When the various parts of the song are recorded and they all start to come together for arrangement and mixing, you get to hear how it works together in reality instead of just in our imagination.

While preparing for Fall in Chillville, where new adventures for the beloved Raccoon await, start familiarizing yourself with the city as the map takes on a new Fall vibe. Additional elements will populate the map in the weeks ramping up to the release.
